Where would we be without CW’s lovely Judy Yam? Without this intriguing picture she tweeted of a sopping Elena staring angrily at Damon — that’s where.
Remember when Nina revealed that Elena and Alaric would go traipsing off on a “sweaty, rugged adventure” at some point in Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries? She also hinted that said journey would leave her in dire need of cooling off. Even though E looks steaming mad in this photo, a dip in the lake will banish all traces of messy, perspiration-inducing exploits.
As for what led to Elena’s dunk in the pond, we’re still guessing ‘Ric is teaching Miss Gilbert the fine art of vamp hunting, and in the early stages of her training, the doppelganger is more apt to fall in the lake than deliver a lethal staking.

Is that the sound of angry Vampire Diaries fans wielding pitchforks I hear?
The Vampire Diaries Season Two was released on DVD this past week and within its packaging was an ad for the upcoming release of a new Vampire Diaries trilogy called The Hunters, with the first novel in the series to be titled “Phantom.” While this might bring some people a bucket load of joy, there is one thing on the cover that might induce enough rage to rival that of any temper tantrum Damon Salvatore has even thrown.

Ian Somerhalder: ‘I prefer bad-ass Damon on Vampire Diaries’
Ian Somerhalder has said that he misses his character’s attitude from the first season of The Vampire Diaries.
The Lost veteran, who plays Damon Salvatore on The CW series, revealed that he prefers the vampire to be a “bad-ass”.
“I would rather just remain the bad-ass dude that gets all the great lines and rips everybody’s heads off,” Somerhalder told Collider. “That’s what I would prefer. I know it sounds a little sadistic, but it makes for a better character. But, I don’t think that’s the way life is.“
The actor went on to discuss his character’s kiss with Elena (Nina Dobrev) in the second season finale of the show, insisting that the moment was not remotely passionate.
“I keep hearing about this ‘passionate kiss’. I don’t know if anyone saw, but [Damon] was also pale white, sweating profusely and bleeding,” he said. “There wasn’t anything very passionate about it, so I don’t know how much I would read into that, although I do know that he remembers it.“
He continued: “He makes a mention of it, jabbing at Elena, but illustrating that he definitely remembers it. It didn’t go unnoticed.“
Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley recently revealed that Stefan will have “absolutely no conscience” on the third season of the series, confessing that he enjoys playing the darker version of the vampire.
The Vampire Diaries returns on September 15 on The CW.
